ok i cant find it but i'm sure i heard something about a 04-07 fireblade sidestan bolting straight on with no need to modify apart from in needing to be shorter..is this true or what else can i do to get rid of the poxy standard one

Hi guys so the 2004 <> 2007 CBR1000RR Fireblade side stand fits, but I've cut the foot of mine and as the stand is hollow I 've screwed a 100mm M10 grade 10 bolt in from which i've cut off the hex head and welded a new foot onto it, and it works just great. It works on a gen 2 RSV , Falco and gen 2 Tuono.

hope that this info is helpful

Can be ordered new for 38-60 £ for the stand you can reuse the aprilia spring put it on the bracket first and if you can adjust ride height it may help avoid shortening at least that's what I've heard I'll try to look up the part number later

My lovely wife got me the replacement stand for Xmas and I fitted it last weekend - fantastic, and a huge improvement. springs stay the same - the Honda stand just replaces the crappy Ape one. photos below show the part number...knock yourself out! I got sick of seeing my bike lying on the floor with people pointing at it as they drove past...

That's the one I ordered for 38 £ new from the US same part number just hope it is actually the same

These stands second hand are like rocking horse sh*t....

Any other stands that can be used????

Anyone got a tidy photo of their stand??

I need a close up on bracket etc

Local breakers reckon they got some cbr1000 stands but il have to look through a few boxes full to find the right ones!!!

Cheers

Went to the breakers, it was an impossible task as nothing was labelled up, need to get the stand off and take it with me next time

mine was a 'little' too upright still, 07 Factory, so i just bent it out a tad, so it leans over a little further, and the foot is a bit further out from the bike making it feel even more stable. little tug, try it, little tug more..

So what's the initial problem with the stand ?
Too long or Ducati like self retract stuff ?

Mike

Some are too long, some are too short :dunno Mine was to short & the bike leant over far too much so I cut the stand & welded a piece in, extending it by about 15mm

the stands are too centrral and the bike stands up too much so is prone to falling over. The replacements vary, at least on the Falco, GSXR Honda - various, US sidestand for the same bike were different and more sturdy. The Honda I think is the CBR1000 from 2004-2007 though I believe a VTR and a Blackbird may fit with frettling.
