Makes fir a great getaway mucker, sounds like it ain't the switch,,, maybe the wee guy in the blue hat could tell yer.

Only kiddin mucker, I've nae idea and I shouldnae have posted ma ****, forgive me, Please.

If the switch is of the normally closed type, your cables are open circuit; if its normally open, they're short circuited. Test the switch off the bike to see if its N/O or N/C

Before the days of all these safety gadgets, we learned the hard way. Check the stand Before riding off, if not its painfull. :yes
How did we manage to survive all those years ago??

GF, you have to remember you learnt to ride on a horse, before bikes were invented.

They did not have side stands.:lol

A short in the wiring somewhere?
Pretty sure the sidestand switch, neutral light and clutch switch are interlinked.Have a look at the switch under the clutch lever,....mine fell off and caused a few probs.

Hi Keith
Clutch switch is working as the bike wont start if it is in gear, but starts with the lever pulled. That should be correct.Any idea where i could find a wiring diagram for a gen 2.

There's one in the manual.
Only trouble is,its a micro print,so you need a magnifying glass to read it.

Yes, my Mrs Yamaha does the same thing, must check it out.
(She learnt the hard way, but always looks now)

My side stand light came on while I was actually riding the bike on a motorway and it caused the engine to cut out , so I coasted to the side and pulled over .With the bike on the stand - the light didn't come on but if I put the stand up as if I was about to move off the light would come on .I yanked the two wires that conect to the switch and joined them together and that sorted the problem out . I don't have a side stand warning light anymore , hasn't been a problem ..
