side stand/ sprocket

Still none the wiser - I regularly park my bike on an uneven gravel driveway with a small plastic puck under the side stand. Maybe susepnsion set-up comes into the issue ?

Badger has had a few more of these bikes than I have so am intrigued to hear his experiences.....

They can be unstable if left in a bad position, i have never had an issue with just finding the correct place to park it, and suspension will alter it if the ride height back or front has been altered:thumbup

Read a post somewhere complaining that the construction and welding on these 'modified' sidestands was ***** and could actually cause a failure.

Think I'll stick with the perfectly adequate stock one thanks....:devil

Now ducks and waits for a 1,000,001 insults regarding the stock sidestand

I think there's too much evidence on this and many other forums on the ineffectiveness of the stock stand on SOME models to waste time debating it.

Some 'I'm all right Jack' owners are lucky their stock stand works and good luck to them. Us unlucky owners who have had their bike topple over on perfectly flat ground are glad people like bubseywoo are supplying a well made alternative to our badly designed stock items.

Boys, boys, boys, the side stand is a good idea, but if your skint like half the people i've met lately. A cheap way of giving your bike a more upright look is go to a steel mill or iron mongers an get them to weld a lump of solid to the foot of the stand. Not sure how much it could be because I got my bro to do mine as he works at a mill, dont think its that much, couple of quid at best :thumbup

KMR - Will you post a piccie please.

see the logic ...kiss my rsv, but does that not give it the feel of it going over the other way or is it stable as u would expect ?

cheers

The bubseywoo stands dont make the bike stand more upright but give the stand and bike a bigger foot print.....the stand sticks out more like the usa versions making the bike more stable...IMO

Just to add to the debate i've still got the stock side stand on mine and i've also had no problems what so ever................

To answer all questions, with having the lump of solid welded to the bottom of the sidestand, the bike dont sit too far upright,so the bike wont fall over the opposite side, and its just as stable, and offers the same size foot print as the standard and after market stand :thumbup

and me. seems pretty stable to me, though doesnt lean quite as much as i feel comfortable with. But im paranoid about side stands since the one on my old 748 went while i was stood drying it "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" lol
