these are a pita from what ive read ?

i had a ride out today and after braking hard the bike cuts out !!

would start but dies after gear selected?

fiddle with lever and stand and ok again?

i fitted new levers yesterday so thought it must be the switch?

no not that and after looking at the side stand hey presto wires were frayed and in a sorry state , the rubber at the switch had snapped and pulled the wires away from the terminals so only a strand or 2 left !!

removed the switch and fitted a scotch lock to the upper connector so the 2 outside wires are linked and all is good again.

just ordered a 07 switch for £8 off the pit so ill have the light back soon dont like not having that.

thing ive noticed is the bike now seems to turn over better so the damaged wiring was the cause of my poor starting too:thumbup

good result but its the first time ive broke down on a bike for 25yrs (rs100 i pushed that fooker miles ) lol you got to keep these italians tip top:thumbup

My sidestand switch failed mid corner on the way down from Hartside cafe resulting in me losing it and throwing the bike into a big ditch causing quite a bit of damage :puke
