hi guys. been smelling fuel from my 2002 mille rsv for a while but started her up today and fuel is streaming out the overflow pipe. even when not running its still coming out. can any one help me asap PLEASE.

Common problem mate. The overflow pipe runs inside the tank and degrades over time. Have you got a metal or plastic tank?
I have just done this job on my metal tank. You need to buy some new hose and two new clamps. Take the tank off the bike and remove the fuel pump you will then be able to see the pipes inside the tank. Remove the two pipes and buy some new fuel hose of the same diameter, cut to length and reinstall with new clamps. Its probable worth getting a new oring for the fuel pump while thats out as well, about a fiver from aprilia. Refit fuel pump and tank and jobs a good un. Two hours max and shouldn't cost much more that a tenner.

thanks badgermilk, the pipes had degraded and completely come apart from the filler cap as well. Do you have any idea why my clutch fluid keeps dropping wether i use the bike or not? it takes about a month from going from max to min wether i use the bike or not. cheers carl

Probably your clutch slave cylinder.
On the left hand side of the bike, I'd bet money if you run your hand over the under side of it there will be fluid there.

had both problems on my mille bud, ended up getting an mpl slave cylinder for the clutch after pissing about with new seals and it only lasting 1000 miles! worth the money in my opinion but you kinda resent fixing such ****** design from aprilia
