Carl think this is for 06 onwards may be wrong , give it a try

Engine Switch off, hold down the + and .
keys together for at least 15 seconds at key-ON.

^^ yup - 04 manual says hold down + and - for at least 15 seconds upon turning the key on.

how do i reset my rev counter/limiter light? iv done it before but it wont do it for some reason, or im doing it wrong pressing + and - together for ever and nothing with key on/off

Rev light reset - (04 / 05 models) Ignition on, Hold down the "trip/V" button for 3 seconds - the current needle should sweep to the current setting. You can then use the "+" button to change it. If it reaches the max level it will drop to 0 and you can start again. Leave everything alone for another 3 secs and the new setting will be stored.
