Im a bit peed at the minute regarding my mille r , its my first one which i bought from a large well known dealer up here in the north east, anyway bought the bike from them in may this year, 2002 , 2 owner rsv r showing just under 8,000 miles on the clock, with service history.
well , obviously im a few miles over 9000 and odd mile service(its at 10,000 now) which by the book, should have the valve clearances checked.
for the first time i pulled out the service history book and the same person owned it and had it aprilia serviced at regular intervals until he sold it some time in 2008
looking at the history the bike it had done nearly 6000 miles in 2006, and in 2008 when ducati wolverhampton either sold it or serviced it , it had 9336, you dont have to be a mathematition to work out wtfk happened to the miles when i bought it this year with just under 8,000 miles
i have put 2000 miles on since may so now reads 10,000, dont get me wrong i love the bike compared to any jap one ive had, but now think i havnt got the genuine low miler i thought i had,:rant
i have rang ducati wolverhampton to see if they would have checked the valve clearances at 9,336 miles which by the book they should have, and wont find out till tomorrow whilst they check there records.
things get even thicker when you look at the first owners last service which was in june 2006 with 8915 on the clock this service was carried out by aprilia lincoln
you will problebly be as confused as i am after looking at all these figure's,:dunno
question now is what's real mileage is on my engine,
bike runs great looks great no hang ups, would it be worth my while having the valve clearances checked and sorted now , and then who will do it for me, not many ape dealers if any round here, im a little mechanically minded but when ya read some of the problematic threads on here ,i would'nt dare touch it
anyway if ya buying a mille check the history matches we all know the score with the clocks knocking the miles of when ya disconect the battery
what to do lads what to do:confused
