Just had a quote for the 6000 mile/ 1st year service £300 all in, seems a bit steep to me for a basic service ?
What sort of costings has anyone else had to pay ?

Also have the standard condensation in both headlamps but was told they could be only be vented, anyone else had this mod and does it work ? My way of thinking is if its a manufacturing defect then they should be replaced...

Not sure about the costings, but I wouldnt expect to pay more than £200 for oil&filter, Air filter, Fuel filter, Brake Fluids & sparks. Dont think Valve clearances are until 12k miles.

As for the Headlights, Very common issue, Alot have been replaced under warrenty, I've also seen somebody here do a DIY repair, by taking out the headlight, Unsealing the lense, giving the lense a good clean, resealing properly and then drilling a hole in the bottom for easy cleaning, finished up by pluggiong up the hole and bam! Clean!

OR, You could source a second hand set.

I agree £300 for an oil and filter change and check over sounds very steep. Parts probs 50-70 quid depending on the oil. An hours labour 1.5 max. 150-200 quid is its money

I had my first service at QB's in Quarry Bank, West Mids. Price was a £299.00. I think that this is a total rip off for what they do but unfortunately to keep the warranty (For what thats worth with Aprilia) you have to pay the price.

Guys I been quoted £170 for 600 mile service which I think is £70.00 too much but as CSK1 said "its the price you pay for the warranty"

To be perfectly honest a machine with a +£14k price tag it should be free!!!

"its the price you pay for the warranty"

Eh??? Are we sure that Aprilias must be serviced by Aprilia in order to prevent warranty from being invalidated?

That was the case for car warranties some 5+ yrs ago... But the EU Commission came along and issued a Directive which mandates manufacturers MUST honour warranties so long as the correct service schedule has been carried out in accordance with the manufacturers schedule BY ANY VAT REGISTERED GARAGE. Can anyone verify if/why that would not be true for any motorbike?

311.00 first service. High price to pay for this bike. But i really dig it.

Aprilia Tuono V4 ..... Cleaning inside Headlight

Here is a series of photos showing how I cleaned out the Headlamp unit of my Tuono V4.
The Tuono V4 Headlamp is a sealed unit and therefore the inside of the unit should not need cleaning out.
However, dirt and grime does get behind the lense and , at best affects the look of the bike or at worst can impede the lighting efficiency.

Your right about passenger cars and LCV vehicles Paul as long as the parts fitted are of an equivalent standard, this is a little unclear I know, but best to fit genuine parts if you get your vehicle serviced outside of the dealer network when still in warranty. I cant see why motorcycles would be any different but I don't know for certain.

Have challenged the dealer around headlamp issue and they are going to submit warranty claim and see what Aprilia come back with, just annoyed that I have had to challenge them for this to happen, dealers still get paid for warranty work its just at a reduced hourly rate agreed with the manufacturer.... Quick enough to quote for the bread and butter service work but then don't want to get involved in warranty issues, probably because Aprilia take and age to reimburse them for any work completed ????

What have you guys paid for the first 600 service and is it just oil and filter change.
