hey guys
I have been reading this forum for quite a while now and think that it is the best knowlage based forum out there, and would like to toff my hat to you guys and girls.
OK OK enough of the a*&e licking, I bought a 2002 RSVR1000 at christmas(yellow of course, being the fastest) and have only been out a couple of times...wow. Anyhow I was taking the side panels off to get under the tank to see what was what and found that a wire had been separated. The wire was located on the right side of the bike and at one side of the connection it is blue and green (one wire) and the other side of the connection it is white and green (two wires).
I don't want to join them together in case I cause damage, but I don't want to run the bike in case they should be connected.:dunno
Any thoughts would be apprecciated..and I know Iknow..I can talk for Britain........

Is it this one :dunno

mmmmm..not sure.
Is that coming from the ECU?
I will try and follow it back. This is how to de-restrict..am I right?
On the photo it looks like the blue and green wire has been cut and insulated.
On my bike the connection between the two white/green wires and the blue/green has been separated.

Im not 100 % sure alan but this wire is what i thought you were on about, if your bikes running ok i'd just leave it and tape the wires up seperately . I'm sure by what your saying that the wires must have been snipped to de restrict it as is normal, just seems they were not taped up properly.

A few more on here will put you right im sure :thumbup

Best thing to do to be sure is to post a pic of it or get it checked out m8 , but like i say if its running ok then i'd leave it .

The photo Steve's put up shows the derestriction proceedure for the wire snip at the ECU which is located beneath the rear pillion seat or seat hump. I suspect the wire you've come across Alan is the self diagnostic wire that's joined togther to display the trouble codes on the right hand side of the dash. The wire is located behind the right hand side panel ( sat on the bike ) under the rider seat. The wire should be left unplugged unless a fault occurs :thumbup
