After all the problems i have had with the bike since the summer, i decided i could not live with the uncertainity of owning an Aprilia anymore and have managed to get a good p/ex on one of the last 2010 Speed Triples to be delivered next week.

I am a bit gutted to be selling the Tuono so soon as it was a great bike when working but i have too much money wrapped up in it to live with the couldn't-care-less attitude of both Aprilia and the dealer.

I have a few bits to be selling which i will try on here first.

I hear whit yer saying duke, suppose when you loose confidence in something it's always going to niggle you.
As for the dealer and aprilia it sounds like they couldn't give a ****. Shame you had a bad experience with your bike but as you say you've got to much dosh wrapped up in it.
Hope all goes well with the S/T.

I've had friends with similar experiences with cars. Seems now and again no matter what you do to fix something there's gremlins in things and they just keep going wrong. I'd have done exactly the same as you and sold it as well.

duke...hello im TQ off Triumph site aswell...dont spose your selling a seat hump? if you have one that is

Thats a pisser D min, looks like ye got a rogue un. Theres defo wan or two wee niggles wi Aprilia ownership but the enjoyment far oot weighs the doonside fur me. Shame ye hud probs. Enjoy yer SpeedTripe :thumbup

Whit bitties ye sellin by the way?

No major stuff to sell.

I have a set of Ventura L bars with the rear sport rack (never fitted) and a set of DHM fold-up black levers (again never fitted). I also have a FAMSA tankbag system which i may see if it fits the ST first but still open to offers.

Its a bit galling to have to sell the bike as i did love it but maybe one day i will come back to an earlier Aprilia if only for that engine. I quite fancy having a Falco or maybe a Gen1 Tuono in the garage as well if i ever see one at the right price.

I got promises of a letter from Aprilia once it was all repaired and sorted but they never did contact me which speaks volumes of what they think of their customers IMHO.

Hi Duke.

If it were me my friend I would write a very snotty letter to Aprilia.
Their goods are expensive enough already and to have a Friday Bike nowadays is not on.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to also attach a link to this site to show them how badly they are faring with Customer satisfaction.
A big apology would not have gone amiss, plus some vouchers. That would have been good PR.

Not good.

Ray

I understand what you are saying, Ray but i just want to put the whole sorry episode behind me now the bike is going.

Trying to get hold of anyone within Aprilia UK is a nightmare. They seem to have very little in the way of communication skills and appear to make it as difficult as possible to get hold of them.

I understand.

All the best to whatever you get.
We all change bikes for reasons best known to ourselfs, but you have had a right bummer of a year with this one.
Keep safe

I would be interested in the Ventura L bars and sport rack if they are for the Gen2 mines a 10 plate

Hi Aldo happy new year to you:cheers

Don't think there is a cure for old age - except riding the T soon forget the aches & pains then - can't wait for some better weather and roads without grit & salt

Planning a little trip for this summer - Lands End to John O'Groats taking abvout 5 days

Hence the interest in the sport rack.
