Hi all Paul new B here, North East of England just got Tuono v2 1000 R, first Aprilia ever owned about a month ago absolutely love it so far......other than misting clocks which I know I am not alone........and today when trying to remove riders seat. Not a big fan of the access to the bolt as in folding the corner of the seat back, but the left side was no problem but the right hand side is just turning but still feels under resistance and turns but not too easily. I've tried pulling up under the seat with a looped tie wrap around the undersidw bracket but to no avail Now I'm just wondering if any kind soul could offer advice as to resolve my sitch please?:crazy

Another nice intro,..........

Those rivnuts can start turning,...especially when they have been overtightened.
A few folks have had trouble with them in the past.I seem to remember you could mebbe take off the pillion seat/cowl and get a long flat blade screwdriver under the nut. That should be enough to stop it turning.

ffs, i wish i,d thought o that kb, took me nigh on a full day drillin out a spinnin bolt last year..:thumbup

oh, hello mr quinn

Yeh I had both that turned I butchered the **** out ov my inside panel n broke a seat post the ******* things , I jammed a driver under the turning rivnut pulling the seat up whilst turning the bolt you'll get there mucker

Cheers guys will have a look and give it a try didnt fancy drilling it out so fingers crossed that screwdriver works....Thanks:thumbup

Well three hours of hard toil sweat and labour skinned knuckles £sss in the swear box and'............feck all still not going anywhere !! Is the hole a tapped insert into the subframe or is it directly tapped into subframe ? If it was an insert would an ezee out do the job or similarly if its into the subframe directly ? Least I have saved three hours of labour lol

Rivnuts mate.Yer ezee out would'nt work.
Probably have to get the drill out.

Idea being get a decent sized but not too big a drill then drill through until reaches cavity in subframe ? Are these rivnuts replaceable as wondering how to refix the seat bolt ?

There is also the seat pins that AF1 sell. They do away with the bolts completely.Someone on here was selling them recently.

Well many hours later the bar steward is out........after much more cursing and ranting .There was no way no how was it going to come out if I'd been a bloody octopus with two of everything doing everything simultaneously so got a 6 mm drill and started to drill it out.Got to within approximately 10% of depth of head bolt coming off when the rivnut bit and was then able to unscrew the bolt.Unfortunately the front locating latch peg on the front of the seat decided it had been attached to the rest of the seat base for too long and it was time to live life on its own.Suppose pulling up on the seat to get extra tension didn't help....the seat or my tension. Tried using super compound adhesive but plopped off again it feels secure with the two fixing bolts at the seat rear. May have to look on eBay for seat base unless anyone has any ideas to fix peg back on to seat had thought of screwing a metal bracket fixed to the hard part of the seat base will have to have a think lol. For now have used epoxy resin stuff and cold welded it to fix the rivnut in the frame and drop on other frame rail too so will see what happen s.....Cheers all :cheers

If ya seats fooked mate you will get one off fleabay for bout 20 quid? I got my bolts out , rivnuts are still in there just slotted the front piece under the tank slot, so I daren't hang off the seat or I'll fall off I don't know what I'm gonna do yet , maybe quick release pins? Cut some threaded bar n screw in thread lock seat the seat n then maybe washers n nuts?

If the rivnut is just spinning, the chances are you can tighten it up again with a rivnut gun.
Mine was so loose, it just pulled out.
I've put new rivnuts back in since...about 5 mins work.
