Scottish Ride OOOT 2

Annoyed I won't make this one gents. Still stuck on a course but it finishes this Friday and then I'm off on annual leave for 20 days. Plan is to get the new tyre fitted, service the bike and have it MoT'd ASAP so I'll be back on two wheels sometime in June, hopefully ready for the next run. :thumbup

Heres a plan for you,Phone Clyde motorcycles in Balloch and order a tyre to be fitted on Saturday morning,& phone Renton garage in Renton (just along the road fro Clyde motorcycles) and book yer MOT,if it passes all well and good,go to the welly,if it fails and the Mob stop you ,tell em your lost.lol

Lex i can meet you at the old garage just before the new bridge but i'm afraid its going to be about 7.40 a bit early but the early bird and all that **** anyhoo the good news is the weather looks to be shithot.........

Biff and Action could you's sort out between yourselves where and when to meet ,Marty would it be easier to make your way through to stirling with those two if so gi them a p.m

sorry guys looks like am working,:angry, a will get oot one time a hope let us know how it goes hope u have a good day, a think the weather is to be good :thumbup

**** me ,looks like i might be bailing out too.............

Topped the oil up to just beyond the max in antisipation of some big miles on Saturday then took it for a 5 mile run but the oil light kept coming on and off, anyway took some oil out of it and now the ****** light doesn`t go out at all .

Now i don`t know if i`ve got a faulty switch or worse the oil pump is gone and i`m about to mangle the engine ??

HELP !!!!!!!

cheak you havn't "knocked off" the oil pressure switch wire...

Defo sounds like a faulty oil sensor m8 ,you would notice low oil as there is a loud tappety noise that comes from the top of the engine i only know this as mines was low and made this noise but the bike was good, check all the connections you know how the electrics are on these bikes ....

Hope it`s the sensor ,defo not low oil . Does the sensor only detect low oil and pressure or does it detect too much oil / pressure ?
Am fearing the worst with this one ,could have sworn the engine was getting louder the longer i let it run but could have been imagining it ??

Thanks for the help guys

the switch only "detects" low oil pressure not the oil level.

hi bud the switch is a £10 mate i changed mine a while ago as it was leaking

Well thats me out as well .......Engines fooked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy your ride guys

Ye pumps gone .

Started it up for a 3 - 4 seconds today sounded terrible so shut it off ......plenty oil in it so can only be pump ?

Phoned Skinners in Dundee and said if it`s started to make a noise it`s already ****** .

Am Gutted !!!!!!!!!!!

Don`t know what to do with it now ? Quite a few £££`s to get another engine thrown at it .

I would stick another oil pump in it before changing engines,or atleast strip it off and check it,If it was ok before you topped up the oil ,It might be salvageable.

is your oil filter full of **** ? bud

pat my good fellow do you still have some "zone" stickers left mate ? would love to have `em on my bike

aye got some left ,I'll bring some on saturday,

I suppose i could check the filter alright or the magnetic drain plug to confirm ?

Might be worth trying another pump if there`s not too much bits of metal lying around in there :dunno:
