Only in as much as sediment collects at the bottom and will get sucked into the filter as the bike runs dry. Probably very little though.

The stories of bikes exploding if you run the tanks dry is merely a rumour and i'm sure yours won't do it :devious

That was a joke just in case someone phones Aprilia to complain. :dunno

What about the submersed fuel pump in the tank Spoonz, surely it won't have any lubrication and will heat up when run dry?

I can't see any trick circuitry to stop it running when it runs out of fuel, unless it has a wet sensor built in??

Can't see how the 3 seconds or so it would take for the bike to cut out after running out of fuel would cause the fuel pump to overheat.
Diesel pumps use the fuel as lubrication, but as this is s petrol pump I doubt it relies on the fuel to cool the pump down.
As far as I can see it's a large electric motorised pump that is not going to overheat even if you ran it dry.
Pete (has run the mille dry on a couple of occasions and never had a problem in over 50K miles of mille ownership)
