I purchased my bike (2004 RSV1000R Factory) yesterday and was told it had a small issue with the harness. The only code showing was for the oil pressure sensor. I removed all fairings and started looking. The stator and rectifier connectors have been removed and been hard wired. I found a plug in the tail that connects the small 2 fuse box to the main wiring harness that was fried. I removed the connector and hard wired them together. After fixing that connector I have no codes showing. A little more searching led me to the TPS sensor with melted wiring. There are 2 wires soldered in there from the PCIII so I traced them back and found the unit will not come on. I can get the PCIII to come on with the 9v but that's it. I tried to check the TPS sensor but cannot find the diagnostic wires. The Axone connector is there but nothing else. Has anyone seen or heard of the TPS wiring melting? I would also like to find out why the diagnostic wires aren't there. Any help is appreciated. I currently have a harness, oil pressure sensor, and new PCIII in the mail already. Thank you.

Thanks for all the replies. :unhappy Fried connector was the problem. I'm assuming the plug caused a low voltage/high amperage situation that fried the wires and PCIII. Replaced connector, TPS harness plug, and PCIII. All good. Hope this helps someone.
