hi thinking of changing the bars on my 02 millie R to some more upright flat bars as its killing me wrists unless pinned everywhere and love the look of the bike. Has anybody tryed to do this with say the top yolk off a tourno? appreciate would have to extend cables and brake lines.

I looked at a "converted" RSV and to be honest it was bloody awful, the lad had butchered the fairing so the steering lock was preserved. He had bought a pucker Kit but it was not a great look

Sell your bike and buy a Tuono :) I know what you mean about your wrists though......

hi
i looked into higher bars as well but the only way to keep the lock is to cut the fairing about i didnt want to do that .i bought some of that stompgrip stuff now i can grip the tank better with my knees it takes a lot of weight of my arms because im not sliding forward every time i brake ,lot better

regards bones

I bought the straight bars from the Streetfighter Store.

And you do have to cut the fairing and the screen, but it is not major surgery.

And unless you are really anal about how your bikes looks, and prefer how it feels and goes, then go for it.

Makes for a much better riding style, and not so comitted either.

Message me if you want any help or further info on it.

I did the same to mine. I sell the kits on my online store so thought I'd try one and it was the best thing I ever did to the bike. Rode all the way to Assen and back last year no problems. Minimal fairing cutting, longer lines and renthals. You can leave the lines on and then it takes half an hour to swap back whenever you want.

thanks lads, how much of the fairing needs cutting away, is it the carbon bits or the main fairing? looked at the streetfighter site but doesnt show a lot of detail.Warren wheres your online shop or is it streetfighter? anybody got any picys?
cheers

You need to cut away about an inch or so of the fairing and some of the screen.

An idea was to get another fairing and screen, so if you wanted to change it back you could put the original fairing back on.

I can take some pics after the weekend if you wanted to see.

It doesnt come with instructions of how much to take off, its more trial and error.

Best way is to make a template first, then you can remove both sides equally.

Where are you based? I am near Cambridge if you wanted to pop down and take a look.

cheers im in kidderminster, no great panick just a bit of a thought. what do you with your ktm? enduros or greenlaning?

Mine are the same as Streetfighter you can see them here http://www.everythingmotorcycle.co....fort-kits/rsv1000-98-03-comfort-kit/p_44.html you have to cut the fairing back as far as the mirrors. I'll see if I can dig some pictures out of my bike so you can have a look.
