Could be just my imagination but last Saturday I left the bike parked outside all day and it rained quite a bit, upon coming to fire her up to go home I set the fast idle as usual but she wouldnt fire up,she coughed a bit, spluttered and then nothing, eventually I flattened the battery, now this happened the day I went to buy it after it had had a good slosh over with soap and water and these two episodes are the only 2 where she has been wet before a start up,anyone know any issues I should look at ?,cheers

there is a thermistor in the right (looking from the front) air tube which is a classic problem after a jet wash douces it, but you would get an efi message on the dash if that was the probelm.

Did you get a flashing EFI?

No flashing EFI but I had a quick check of the plugs on Monday night and you could drive a barge through the gaps ?? they where atleast .012 :suspect possible cause ??

Get you bike hooked up to an Optimate too. Also look at replacing the starter solenoid with a Yamaha one. Do a search on Yamaha solenoid

Not got the optimate but the Halfords own cheaper version :biggrin (Jez iam a cheap skate),Ive already put the uprated Aprilia solenoid on it,got it off some dude on E-bay,think he posts on here but cant remember his ebay tag,£30 + p+p.but sadly the bike is now off the road completely as the sprag let go on thursday and I have now stripped it down in my garage only to find the sprag lobes retaining spring dangling out of the back of the geny ,sprag gear and housing look like they took most of the grief over the years and might be salvagable (watch this space :idea) but the sprag its self is only destined for that big starter motor in the sky, thanks for the tips so far guys
