Hi bought my first rsv yesterday. really enjoyed the ride home but was not happy with the suspension. the bike has the ohlins front forks and the sachs rear any advice on a set up would be very helpfull cheers steve.

Hi fella, The Ohlins forks are very stiff, Im an average build (11 stone) and find them very stiff on roads, I've had mine setup at Southern Cross for my weight and im still not happy with them, think they are going to be sorted for track use but on UK Roads i'll have to put up with it, much prefered the Showa forks.

only way to get them softer is lighter oil and maybe springs, As for the Sachs rear shock, i'd replace that for an ohlins one, could never get on with the sachs one myself.

Hello mate I hope you are enjoying the big twin experience these bikes are awesome. I wasn't happy with my Sachs Rear suspension so I watched a load of You Tube vids on setting the sag on the bike and it has made a big difference. Basically I had 49mm of sag on the rear when ideally it should be around 30 mm for the road. I reduced this with a few turns of pre load. Worth having a go before you splash the cash.

cheers many thanks i will see if i can get some sort of set up advice, and have a play myself.

Your welcome further to this the general advice is set the sag before touching any other suspension setting. I have got the rest of my bike on factory settings and it handles fine. There are some good suspension set up vids on you tube and plenty of advice on the net. Its not all dark arts stuff LOL
