Rotor to Crank fitting

Just a quick question, when it comes time to fit the rotor onto the crank should the rotor fit all the way up to the nose of the crank ?

Really hard to explain but What I am trying to ask is should the inside of the rotor be tight up against the nose of the crank or should there be a gap between them ?

Hopefully someone will understand what I mean :dunno

Scott, without draining all the oil out and having a look, I'm not quite sure but I seem to remember that it was pretty close, although come to think of it, there may have been a bit of distance between the crank and the rotor face, not much though. Sorry I can't be more help.

On the last one i did the flywheel went all the way up so the back of the flywheel had reached the end of the taper pretty much.

If that was what you meant.

Cheers Spoonz & Simon, was curious as the new rotor doesn't and am curious if it should.
Havnt tried the old one back on to see if it fits all the way either...dont want to risk damaging the crank by sliding the damaged rotor on to check.
