The settings are just ballpark in the chip instructions. No 2 bikes are the same but if the idle is too high and out of adjustment you probably have a bit too much bypass.
A little rise in idle is normal and i always had that when switching eeproms but you should be able to wind it out with the adjuster if the settings are spot on or close.
I did a 2000 bike with a Gabro chip a while back which had been set to the ballpark settings and the rear cylinder was running 8% Co. Best to get it double checked as it doesn't cost much generally.
