Any hints on hot to?

Tsubakis link is not hollow point as in D.I.D, but it is level and finished work should be "quad riveted" e.g. a mushroom type of riveting.

If you have done it please share your experience

Sorry Jussi, don't know but I thought I'd come on and keep you company as your post looked rather lonely all on its own.
If you need any help with sprag clutch replacement, I'm learning a lot about that every day!

"Riveting tool does not work with solid end pins, and is a tool ideal for home use."

Tsubaki link has solid end pins....

Maybe it is "hammer time"...

Well i have all the winter to solve this challenge.

Chain is Tsubaki 5115000500 525 Sigma XRG and o got Renthals 16/43 to go with it.

Why not just buy a rivet link and ditch the solid one, I did when I renewed my chain and sprockets on my other bike.

I'm just about to put a new chain on the 7r, but i'm gonna take the swing arm out as the chain doesn't run through it.

Thank god

Seems a bit drastic to pull your swing arm off to facilitate the replacement of the chain.

Surely it would be easier to split the chain and use a rivet link to reconnect when you put the new chain on.

This is what I did on my ZX6R.

Takes 15 minutes to replace a chain this way, bet it'll take you hours to remove the swing arm.

Helloo Helooo come in, am i getting throughhhh ??

Buy a whale tool paning tool. not the rivet tool.

It's designed specificallyfor hard links and takes seconds. I have done my Tsubaki x ring chain with it and Sabre has done a couple of Triple S chains and it just works.

Just hold a heavy block on the back then hammer and punch the other end to form the rivet. 2 man job but takes 2 mins. Piece of piss

cheers dave :thumbup but i have a massively agricultural one. was just pulling spoonz leg cos no one was listenin to him :devious

please let me play spoonz :roll

My Chinese wife just bought me a Whale's tool – apparently if you grind it up into powder and drink it in a soup, it makes your knob grow larger. Thanks for the tip Spoonz.

No problem he says tucking the 2ft trouser snake back in.

Nah, I'm rebuilding my trackbike over the winter with a race motor and new swing arm.

So whilst it's in bits i'll fit it ;)
