Hi all,
I've just bought a 1999 RSV Mille. Took it to Brands Hatch and scared the crap out of myself when I kept bouncing off the limiter cranked over!! Then realised it was happening far too low down the rev range (8-9,000). Since tested on the local motorway and definately feels like it hits a rev limiter at about 8-9000 revs. Not such a newbie (I know my way round a multimeter) but really open to any systematic advice of how to track down this problem (or an expert near North London who can help)
Thanks in Advance..??
John

If it happened cranked over, remove your tilt sensor. Its under the seat, sorry i do not have a pic.

I had to remove mine, as I have a wicked slip road exit onto the M20... yeeeeeeee ah

Hi Guys,
Yep, I have an alarm - might try that on a dyno?
The cut-out happens whether lent over or upright.

Can't see why an alarm would cause this (but that doesn't mean it isn't) so I might
take it off on a suck-it-and-see.

Daft question but are you sure the redline threshold isn't just set wrongy?.

To adjust it :-

Redline threshold (engine off only) :-

Press C, release, and press again
Release C when desired RPM is reached

Hi RSV_Ecosse,
Nope, it isn't a redline problem which affects when the Max light comes on. This is a full blown ignition cut out that occurs between 8-9k. This isn't normally adjustable and I understand on a Mille, its set at 11k.

Ta though,

John

hi mate ,have you fixed your problem cos i've had same thing happening to me when i've been trackdaying , it nearly spits me off going down the straits.
My efi light comes on as well for a few seconds and it seems to be better if i only use 3/4 throttle instead of full , as you can imagine this is great! Just been riding round it till i can be arsed to fix it. Any info please!
