Hi all, on page 34 of my owners manual it states "if the km in reserve indicator is activated, it takes up the total odometer place." I took this to mean if the low fuel warning light came on the odometer would be replaced with a calculated remaining distance on the fuel remaining however this doesn't seem to be the case, can anyone explain what this statement from the manual is referring to please. Is there a setting that has to be enabled to get this function ?

If in normal mode it will drop mileage and start at zero miles when the reserve light comes on so you know how many miles you have done on reserve , Not how many you have left. That's how it works on my 09 tuono gen 2!

Yup. What he said, miles done on reserve.

In true Italian bike style, my mileage count starts a few miles after the light comes on....:banghead

Thanks guys for explaining what I should be seeing, I normally reset trip 1 when I refuel and leave it switched to display this, if I switch mode once the low fuel light comes on will this function still work or do you have to be switched to the total odometer mode at the moment of the low fuel light coming on ?

Just go to mode and it will be on res miles or shortly will, mind you if I fill up straight away I can only get 10/11ltrs in so my light comes on well early "18ltr tank" 70/80mls usually, safer I guess but that bloody light is annoying.

Cheers snowman, Ive had my T 2 weeks and filled her 4 times, fair to say I love riding her !!! will check out the reserve mileage counter next time when the light shows, which will be 2moz :bigsmile

Strange, my 07 Gen 2 does none of these things just keeps counting total miles and leaves it to my addled brain to do the math!

Or have I not turned it on somewhere?

Change the l/h switch from trip 1 or trip 2 to Mode when the fuel light is on....note: it goes back to zero when you switch engine off

Thanks guys, can confirm it worked on mine, switched to mode and sure enough approx 1.2 miles after the fuel light came on the odometer reading changed to show miles on reserve.

ah, thanks guys.
Anyone know roughly how far reserves takes you? I was starting to sweat at 32 miles the other night

My light comes on early so obviously lot more than 4.5ltres , but I don't like to push it more than 35mls (havent had to yet)

I've had 44miles then it spluttered to a stop.

Nae push at all mucker. I ran dry a mile short of Granton on Spey.

An early Sunday morning hurl to do the Lecht road, fookin filling stations up that way don't open until 10am.

Managed to squeeze 162 miles until dry then ma mucker went and got me some fuel.

Just goes to show a Duc Fechter has a better fuel range than a Tuono.

Most I've pushed is total of 128mls and got 16 ltr in if I remember when I first had her , must admit I kept off the throttle tho! Nice to know 160mls is poss.

We were dawdling aboot.

5.45am start on a September day that was going to be cloudless.

Pity it wiz fookin baltic early doors and the route we took had miles of roadside trees that had the low sun thinkin it wiz the biggest strobe light ever.

That's ma excuse and am stickin tae it. :yes
