Hi all,

My RSVR '06' has leaking fork seaks, i understand GSXR1000 K4 seals do the trick. Has anyone replaced these and do you know if they last longer than the Ohlins ones. Also i've heard Ktech do seals that fit, has anyone tried these?

My local mech has quoted £110 + parts. Are special tools needed to do the job and how tricky is it to change the seals and replace the oil?

Any advice welcome, cheers.

if you are capable of servicing your bike including brake overhaul then you are more than capable of replacing your own fork seals.

have a look HERE

you can buy the special tool to remove the top cap
or
you can modify a spanner used to remove the nut that holds the disc to a grinder you can probably pick one up for under a fiver.

be methodical and keep everything clean.

i did it for the first time last year and was amazed at how easy it was.

you can use Gixer K4 seals ensure these are genuine Suzuki, or i believe Duke 999 also fit.
Ohlins seals are fine but expensive Aprilia Seals are expensive and crap.
