Repairable Mille SP

looks nice, but bear in mind you wont be able to replace the damaged carbon side panel, you cant get them anymore.
Tis a nice bike, but for that price you could get some other nice bikes too.
I would go and have a look in person at the damage.
cheers

From checking other posts I believe the panels can be repaired and repainted though?
Also the exhausts have scuffs on them and I guess these are hard/impossible to find also?
I hope to view it next week.

panels are all carbon mate just be careful....

if the frames touched then walk away mate ...irriplaceable!! (speeeelling?)

yeah you can certainly repair carbon if your gonna paint it. Just remember not all the panels are painted!.As wos said, check frame and esp rt side of swinarm for dings.
Yeah you can get the exhausts, they come up on fleabay every now and then,( I have had a pair) or you could get the Remus lookalikeys?(sound better too, and not as heavy)
cheers Ck

eek!, just noticed they have a Nera on there also(damaged too), now thats a nice bike!. I remember the Carbon tank was 3k alone..but for the price of a RC8, hmm!!

Have a trip up there and a little day out in Macclesfield/Cat and Fiddle - maybe wait for better weather though!

I bought some downpipes for one of my old bikes from the same place, he is basically, a bike breaker so all the bikes have damage of some kind.

As some have said on here, parts are going to be expensive if anything needs replacing. Probably worth taking someone with you who knows a bit about Milles/other bikes to keep you sane if you go and look.
Bikes clearly been down on the rhs - bet someone was p*ssed off!
Might be worth asking where it came from, as I bet it's an uneconomic to repair write off (CAT D?) as just the fairing parts are unobtainable/astronomical.

How much are mint ones, and can you make it look it for less/what it would be worth?

be careful if it needs any sp specific parts as they are impossible to get hold of....

everyone says they are not much difference to an "r" model...but the engines completely different lots of (cosworth)head work on them bigger throttle bodies ,etc and lots of adjustment on frame angles etc so no way like one...would love to ride one

Last one I found for sale was around the £9k mark.
This one is CAT D and they say it has a "mark" on the swing arm. Not caused by the exhausts hitting it as they are straight.
The extremely low mileage (1,080) is a bonus I think.

well you could always change out the swinger. When they say mark its prolly a huge dent lol.
( I dont think it was a SP special one-tho I may be mistaken)
Good luck dude
Ck
PS- those miles are prolly ALL track miles.

Both them bikes have been there for an Age as that guy breaks bikes on the Net from his own site.........

They may well not be a Bargain :(

Salty Price as well

If he's had it for ages then there should be a deal to be had :thumbup
I'm hoping to go up next week....

also bear in mind Sp swinger is no more.

If it's dented you will have to fit an oem version or live with it

check out 2003 copy of TWO they compared 5 RSV models, a much modded SP (rsvr.net owner) bike 'only' made 128bhp, you should expect that from an Edwards, personally I would save half the cash and buy and Edwards or Haga edition...

I agree, although the SP is a special Ltd edition and this one is damaged, I would source a mint low mileage genuine 02 Haga or 03 Edwards rep for a few grand less

CAT-d is a major turn off, i tried flogging my old ZX6r with genuine 9k from new that was also cat D, got just over a grand for a six year old bike ;o( not quite the same thing but you get the idea!

After all the work to get it sorted and straight you won't even break even...

I saw this in person about 3 months ago as I went down to Cheshire Motorcycle Salvage after something. Looks nice in the flesh as it's a mille :D, but yes they have had it for quite a few months now so if you do want it bargain him down low.

your missing the point properly set up this will be better handling wise and the motor is different than a mille motor..bore/stroke etc...the sp is a special engine

Your right, ti should be better handling than an mille r and I agree the bike is special.

BUT :D, it still wont have the handling of the newer bikes, lets face it, our bikes, although loved, are 10 years old :)

So yes, it is special and I would also like to have one in my garage, but if you are looking for a bike to ride, not just own, then for 6k you can get something better, or buy a normal rsv and pimp it up with preformance upgrades and it will also be special and probably ride better than the sp :)
