Removing rear wheel bearings?

Hi anyone.
I've recently bought new replacement F/R sprockets for my 03 aprilia tuono aswell as new rear brake disc and pads.
And whilst i'm changing those i thought I'd replace bearings to. Well after i removed the circlip I've discovered a little cerosion around clip, which has taken a few good hours of me beating the hell of it with not even the slightest of movement with either bearing it is truly stuck in there.
When years ago this work would easierly be knocked out with either a long screwdriver or a piece of my mother best broom handle, these bearings are not coming out to play.
So the question is.
What's the best way (method/tool) to get these out?
I would very much appreciate all advice.

Thanks Russlm

wd-40 overnight, then Heat the wheel around the bearing(not setting light to wd-40 :crazy) , then drop an ice cube on the bearing (wheel hub shold still be hot) let if melt/cvool the bearing and then whack it with powerful short-sharp-shock :kicknuts

bearing puller/slide hammer and get them out in about ten seconds, just do it properly.

My rmx bearings were seized in solid (all 3).... Mate sorted with a huge blob of weld an a kin big hammer...

Good old fashioned british engineering !

:)

As Keith B said. --------- And put new bearings in freezer before trying to re-fit , but they warm up real quick so get ,em in right first time .

oh come on...seriously...put them in the freezer?? i've never had to even think about doing that with a bearing, just drift them in.

freezer oh yes , its all in the physics of expansion and contraction in metallurgy !! makes easy work of fitting interference fit bearings .:yes

Thanks again peeps for all advice. I shall go put my balls in the freezer rite now.
Mmm cold nuts :cool2

+1 on the freezer.

Also, keep the wheel in a warm room overnight before fitting.
I used a heat gun (REALLY gently) on mine before drifting them back in.
