Hi all, I am trying to remove the rear bobbin but it looks like the threadded bar runs all the way through the gearbox casing to the other side, I can't tell if this is passing through a mount, with it's removal, I really don't want the motor to come smashing through the fairings!

I'd love to remove it because putting my feet down, I always end up shinning myself! It must go!!!

I have them fitted as well mate. Im sure they are just a 10mm threaded bar running through. Either that or they just screw out like the front ones, and have a threaded screw built into them.
i know what you mean by being awkward with the foot rest. I got the hang of it after a while and now its easy enough.
They could end up saving you £££.

It's a bar look at the rear of your engine by the rearshock use a 17mm spanner to hold the nut and a 17mm socket in the crush bung to undo

It's a bolt and nut on each side. I'm sure you will need a 15mm ring spanner for the inside nut.
Very fiddly to get at but it can be done.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not sure if I've made myself clear in the OP- I understand that the bar needs to come out to undo the bobbins, I was concerned that by pulling the threadded bar out, that it would be undoing an engine mount?

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks :)

I've found the R&G instructions on-line, it says to thread that bar through the rear mounts. So guessing the previous owner threw the bolts away, anyone happen to have x2 rear engine mount bolts for sale?
