Remap booked in!

I went out for a ride today on my favourite roads (125 mile round trip) and had a lot of fun, its so much better coming out of corners etc when you have such instant and smooth throttle response! Had a few moments shaking the bars when I gave it too much too soon but the steering damper kept it in check and I just ended up laughing like a loon in my helmet! :D. Don't think I need any more power for now :). 16/42 feels like good gearing to me as well but I want to try it on track!

i run 16/42 its good ...keep wondering if i should go 43 on the back or a 15 on the front...

sounds like you had fun....cant wait till i get mine custom mapped

Fuel consumption is a little better. I used to get roughly 30mpg on the same route, this time I got closer to 35mpg. Not bad, more power using less fuel! :D . I was absolutely caning it for at least half of the journey though and did lots of full throttle overtakes even on the slower parts so I expect taking it easy I could get 40+mpg if needed!

16/42 is a huge improvement on standard, 1st gear is actually more usable despite it being lower geared. It just doesn't stutter as much. Going round small roundabouts is actually possible without slipping the clutch and doing it in a 50p shape! I think I'd go 16/43 rather than 15/42. I would hate to completely lose top speed (not that I get there often, but it's nice to know it's there!) and if I downgear it too much I fear that wheelies would start becoming a "problem" when pushing on, rather than being something I can control! As I say, 16/42 is nice for now though :) . I can't believe how overgeared they are as standard, why did Aprilia let it leave the factory like that?

You'll love the custom map redrat! Like I say... it's the throttle response and smoothness that really get you.

mine was set up by Griff when he fitted the 57's so its actually pretty good at the moment but sounds like its going to be the nuts when its done...yep i think 43 rear is the way to go...hooked ran 16-43 when he had his rsvr and it reports its better than 16-44

On another dyno I would expect it to show at least 5bhp more than this one.

what your reason for thinking this and i notice through those runs he didnt load the bike up with the rollers which i told gives you a more spot on reading as i simulates being on the road with some forces

After rethinking 5bhp is probably too optimistic, but I bet it would read at least 125bhp. He showed me lots of RSV run graphs from past ones he's done and even Colin Edwards rep's were making the same sort of power as mine (slightly less in fact). I'm just going by what I've seen others post on here with identical mods to me...

Not sure what you mean by loading the rollers? As long as the tyre is gripping then it shouldn't matter I'd have thought... but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! Sitting on it is surely the same as me sitting on it when I'm on the road anyway? :) .

Yea fair to say 2-3 bhp between different rollers yours is the same motor as Edwards rep so the only diff in tbs would be injectors which may give you the few extra geegees
As for the loading up the roller they put more friction to it which makes the bike work harder instead of basically free wheeling so to speak not sure what happens but I'm told it's more accurate
Any one know the tec reasons
