Just out of interest what have you guys set your red line/light at?

10k, I prefer to see the light earlier otherwise you end up bouncing of the limiter in 5th!! Head on the tank, it;s good to see a flashing light on your way to the top!

Might have guessed it what you. That person who made spend so much on my toy, the carbon addict!! Use it as a gear change light on the autobahn! It's that no speed limit sign I go :mad1

:woohoo Mines at 10.75......I don't like seeing the light either

10.5 I think . It goes up to there when I turn the ignition on. Is that the indication fo where it is sat? I have only been on the bike with the partner on the back so have never reved that high yet!

You've raced 5 yearsand haven't had your bike reved that high yet........Get on it.....:thumbup

Only had the Mille a few weeks and never been for a blast on my own! I will get on to it though! Dont worry about that! I just looked into the manual about how to set it. Forgot again now but at least I know I can find it if I want to.

Factory setting is 6000?? Thats a bit lame!

6000....ha-ha. :jack

sounds like the good range is 9.5-10.5. But it seems at 9000 the engine is pulling super hard and still has alot more left. At least for me.

Mine is at 11k, I hate the light, but recently when I have been running it against my buddy's RC, I dont always shift quick enough and when I do go to shift, I am too late, and that damn light is flashing! LOL. Maybe I will lower it some to warn me sooner, or just learn to shift!

Yeah...I tend to do that too. My buddies have 2007 R1, 2006 CBR 1000rr, and 2007 GSXR 1000. They are a little hard to keep upto and shifting is critical

:wheelie

you are absolutely correct RE critical shifting needed .
But do it right and you have the legs on the bikes mentioned at least up to 160, plus roll on torque leaves them all for dust while they scrabble to chnage down:biggrin

Just had a blast on mine yesterday and I htink mine is set at about 10250. That or the needle was lagging a little..

6000rpm factory setting for running in.... best way to set light is to do a dyno run and look at the power curve. alot of milles are doing fok all at the top end(apart from sounding good~)so you are losing valuable seconds and time when giving it the gee gees but this is all dependent on what you have done to your bike and should be set just below peek power .....:thumbup
