180 v 190 what's the pros and cons and what tyres are we running?

Accidentally put this in the gen 2 section aswel but I'm asking for a gen 1

nowt much... a couple of quid...stick to the 190 fitment..im on pirelli angel st for me they stick like **** in wet n dry...plenty of feedback with them....pretty good with the milage 5k+ on rear hard riding and they roll into the corners nice even when worn...

It had some maxxis diamonds put on 50 miles before I got it and they are a 180 but I'm not happy with them so looking to change.

mmm some of the guys here have tryed the maxxis and dont rate them....
ive tryed super corsas on mine there fearless in the dry scary in the wet and go ****** in no time, had mitchelin pr2s as well they were ok ish a bit harsh on the turn in,bit wishy washey in the wet but milage on them was good even though they squared off after 3k..
i think tyres are really personel choice and what kind of roads you use, and of coarse what kind of wonger do you want to part with and how often you want to change them .contis n metzelers are good for money and good for wet as well there a few guys on here and the other channel swear by them and like the high milage they get out of them.

Metzeler Z8's on mine 190/55.
As Roy said, a decent tyre, good in the wet, but starting to square off now, and feeling very vague when cranked over.
Done about 3 k on them, and would probably put the same on again, and would keep with the 190 rear.

Taking delivery of Dunlop qualifier in 190 size tomorrow will get it chucked on and see how they perform. Heard mixed reviews but lad I know does some instructing at the ring rates them so wtf

180 Michelin Pilot Power 2ct been on since I got it. Handles like a dream.

i was of the understanding that the 180's turn in more sweetly

"190/50 is wider and flatter. If all you do is ride on highways it'll probably be the better choice but it'll have slower turn in than the 180/55. Since I like riding the bike in the twisties I prefer the quicker steering 180. Usually cheaper too. "

"190/55 was good at the track but have found the 180/55 much better for mountain scratching. I don't notice any difference in initial turn in, but I do find the 190 pushes the front in tighter road stuff. I also find general steering is much more neutral with the 180 as the 190 felt like it either needed to be all the way over or nothing, which again is fine on a track, but on the road not so much."

Had Maxis on my bandit and they were ok. I'd buy them again for that bike, but I'm sticking with the Mickeys for the Tuono

Forgot to say, have done just approx 2500 miles and no sign of squaring off yet (daily rider in all weathers)

I have put the new Bridgestone S20R EVO tyres on, and they are brilliant, load of confidence, been around brands and they were great, with really good feedback. Prior to this I was a Michelin Power fan, and would not go near Bridgestone but now a convert and just put them on my 998 instead of the usual Pirelli.
Cheers

I've been using the Angel STs for awhile now and I need a new set, thought of changing to Dunlops because I ride wae two dudes who swear by them.

A must for me is how the tyre performs in the wet.

Any experience yet, cheers mucker.
