Had to use me ladder as an "A" frame as i don't have any beams on the ceiling in the garage

Took the springs off the pipe going into the rear header and managed to just free it enough to get to that awkward bolt behind the exhaust pipes.

Cleaned up bearings and side plates and regreased the bearings. There was a bit of wear on the left plate but not to much.

All back together now and i'm ready for the first blast. :thumbup

Good idea using a ladder, this has urged me to do a similar job on my Tuono.

top work..

I was lucky enough to have steel girder across the top in my garage. i strapped up the front brake to stop the bike moving to-and-fro.

i have slight play in the bearings even after regreasing - will change them when there's more play. hardest part of the job for me was putting the spring back on the exhausts....

You know what I am like Mr.B.

Big jobs first.

They will be on before spring (I hope).

Whens the next Jolly Boys outing ?

Good job there woody...

If you dont have a suitable ladder, you can always place a metal bar through the swingarm pivot bolt and rest it on axle stands..... or scrounge an abba stand...

:)

Thats another good tip Felix.

Thats how I lift the back end up on the T, with a paddock stand & a bar through the hollow spindle.

I took the swinging supports from the paddock stand & the long bar goes through these holes & into the spindle.

IMO, it makes it a lot more stable & safer for one person to use - sort of "locks" the bike / stand together & feels more controllable at that awkward point when its in mid swing.

Cheers lads, i also put a zip tie on the front brake as the bike does move around without it.:thumbup

Good job done Woody.
Being a lazy **** mine will stay as they are, unless some kind member wants to do it for me? Olaf, Brooksy?:laugh

Aye nee botha, get it fetched round, I need some practice with my hammer & chisel.
Just put a new disk on the angle grinder as well.

Call at the sarnie van on the way down.
Dont forget ya flask.

Tiz included in the "12k service" if your anywhere near one of those...

They do not call me Rivan the Terrible for nowt.

Spanners are for girls, just assume the nuts will be seized & go straight to plan B.

dont have a problem with seized nuts its more sheared bolts for me !

I prefer to be described as careful.

Yes the old T is still in there, I think.

I have been charging the battery on something, might be a lawn mower under a blanket for all I can see.

PS, try chopping 3 foot off that scaffy pole & you might not shear as many bolts.
