I'm looking to change my standard hangers/footpegs for some nicer looking items. Apart from the likes of harris and giles, i'm not sure who does what. Any suggestions. Can't break the bank

Depends how much your looking to spend, new or second hand :dunno fusebox is selling some of his own designed ones for £200 ish :devious

I saw griffs rear sets at the Club Aprilia day on Saturday, i can confirm they are quality items :thumbup

Mark, surely this is your field of expertise?

Why not make your own set up, they are sure to be superior quality to those that you can buy elsewhere?

This is true Alan, having said that the amount of time one would need to put into research and development, prototype (etc etc) to produce such a item is beyond anything i could ever commit too. If i made it a full time affair then no problem but unfortunatly the bits i currently do are done in and around everything else in life.

Believe me if you understand machining then the current rearsets you can buy gilles etc are worth every penny, each sides are made up of 7-9 peice assembly machined from solid billet with no expence spared.
Im very impressed with griffs rearsets ive seen im considering buying some for myself, mainly to get this rear brake issue sorted and relocate the cylinder, at £200 they are value for money. Others ive looked at are gilles though these are a lot more £££, quality part though IMO your paying for the name.

Yes i could make my own but for me its easier to buy some, its so involved and would potentially take months to manufacture correctly.

Im currently looking to make my own side stand machined for solid material, took the old one part yesterday to get an idea.

I appreciate good engineering as you do Mark and yes R & D on these parts takes a lot of time and money. I don't suppose anyone has a piccie of Griffs rearsets fitted then?

Griff, can you not post a piccie of them so we can have a butchers, please?

I was tempted to bid on a set of Sato rearsets a few weeks ago but bottled it when they hit £175.00, was only looking to pay £150 max. (Was really after some Gilles too)

I had my All singing all dancing camera with me that day shame i didnt get some pic's, didnt think.

Im sure griff will have a pic somewhere, do you have his direct email Alan if not i can send it to you. He told me he currently has pre 04 rear sets avalible only, the post 04 rear sets he's waiting for.

groovers this isnt a great picutre but these are the rearsets that are fitted to Mick olivers bike , i'll get some proper promo pics taken soon !!

if i can help or you have any questions just gimme a call mate and i'd be happy to help !

Cheers
Griff

They look smart Griff, looks like I best start saving me pennies.

I need that there exhaust. What is it and anyone want to buy an Akro instead?!:biggrin

Oh and I need some of them rearsets and brake/clutch res caps that i read about and one of them airbox conversion thingmies as well! Anything else i need know about while i'm at it? :bash

these are great bits of kits

Mastercylinder relocates behind heal plate mounting

Black, silver & polished i believe are available

A fantastic rear brake, i put mine to the test thru my 2700 miles few weeks back, still rock hard feel

Lots of adjustment for the sporty riding or the touring position

I have a set of Harris fitted to mine.

They look the b*llocks, and have made gear change/getting into neutral significantly smoother as well?

Love the look of Griff's rear-sets & can confirm the quality; unfortunately couldn't speak to Mr Griff as he was a 'bit busy' working on about 4 bikes at once at the Aprilia day.....very interested in a set however 'butterfingers' i.e. myself may make a bit of a mess of fitting particularly if reservoir needs relocating!

the resevior does indeed relocate in one of two places , underneath the side panel under the seat , tucked up out the way to make things look a lot neater and tidier!

New boots i will fit a set for ya mate if you want some! better still come and sit with me while i do it!

better photos on the way and as always if i can help gimme a call!
Cheers guys!

Griff

Can you put reverse shift on this rearsets?

And can you get replacement pegs in case of a close encounter with the tarmac?

They do look nice.
