Rear brake pedal travel

I guess like other components, they are not all manufactured the same. I've had the bike 4 years and settled for bleeding it the night before an MOT and then relying on the tester to be familiar with my bike.
I just wanted to sort it once and for all without forking out for rear sets. I will try it one more time with a full litre of brake fluid and if it doesn't cure it then it will be rear sets.
Cheers mate.

dont you think there would be a recall & a whole ton of lawsuits against aprilia if components as vital as the brake system were not up to scratch..

but yeah it boils down to this: be patient and fix it OR spend lots of money and fix it

I do think there should have been a recall. The web is littered with owners complaining about the same problem. It's ridiculous that nothing has been done. When I had my VFR even the slightest problem was recalled and fixed, a poor show from Aprilia. Especially as its a brake issue.
When I bought the bike there was no brake pressure and the dealer sorted it but it didn't last long and they were a previously approved Aprilia service centre.
I've tried drawing fluid through with a vacuum pump, tried by traditional method of pushing down on the pedal, I have even tried the reverse bleed with a syringe. None last.
I don't really want to throw money at it yet but I can see that it is the solution. For me anyway.

The cost a mounting a lawsuit that would stand any chance of success in europe would be in excess of £50k. Probably twice as much in the US.
Not many are going to man up and go for that I recon....given that most bikes would normally be worth less than 10% of that.
Piaggio are on pretty safe ground, they CAN demonstrate that bleeding WILL give a decent pedal.

Fair play, if I had your level of patience, I'd still be in the shed bleeding it now.
All those that tried to bleed mine failed. There were some seriously savvy guys that had a go.
Nobody has been able to come close to a solution
Many have a lightbulb moment and convince themselves it's a temperature issue.
I discounted that after wasting money on AP PRF660 fluid. That will cope with temps in excess of 300 deg C
Many bikes work perfectly OK on cheap dot4, so we KNOW it's not that.
The fact is no one knows why some bike cannot be bled.

I gave up when Southern Cross failed to sort it.
A set of rear sets was a fairly cheap fix given how much time and money I've wasted trying to sort it.

I may have asked this already, I feel like I've been round a few circles here!
What rear sets did you buy?
