Rear bike stand

Honestly lads - the Motrax one is almost identical to the Harris, and only half the price.

They are so good I have 3 of them, 2 rears and one front, makes bike cleaning, chain etc. an absolute doddle.

Our Tuono's are sat on the Rears, plugged into the optimates and under wraps for winter now.

Whats so good about them then ? Do they lock on before you tip em up ?

Pretty much. I can put either bike on one single handed without any worries.
They are lighter than the steel jobbies, and for routine jobs quicker to use than the Abba stand.

Since I usually clean both bikes at the same time, I got one for Liz's as well, and a front for when I want tyres or to sort the front brakes etc.

I've had a home made cable tie jobby for years on the Micron paddock stand. It just keeps the space correct for the bobbins and 'usualy' sits the bike upright without to much drama but its not ideal. Might have to check the Harris/Motrax out for a stocking filler.

Likewise I had a pair of cheapo stands, the rear had those stupid swinging hooks. Royal ******* to use solo.
One of the lads on AF1 has the pukka Harris stand, which is about £110 plus delivery, and my Motrax looks identical and cost £60.
The forks have square shafts so they can't rotate, and the forks are longer on the top/back so they line up on the bobbins dead easy.

I have got a Aprilia rear stand bort in 03 and is still going strong , got two Motrax onse for the wifes Ducati and yous the frunt one wen I need it , and an Abba stand with bobins for both bikes and a KTM , thats the grate thing abowt the Abba you just need to buy the bobins diffrent bikes once you have one , I whont chainge my stands now , but iff I was buying new it wood be the Harris rear stand and the harris botom tripple clamp frunt stand , and an Abba as well you do need one for serten jobs , like eney thing Swinging arm related like shock swops, and Linkige clean ups ;)

Well i got a motrax one in the end thanks , looks pretty good to me:cool: clean my bloody chain now:D

I cant remember how many paddock stands I've had over the years,....some good, some crap.Got a couple of genuine Ducati stands,(FG special parts) for the missus Monster.Usually use the ABBA stand on the T,absolute peice of piss to use and solid as a rock.I can change the adaptors and use it on the Monster too.
The Harris and Motrax look great, but I'm more than happy with the ABBA.

Hello, im after one was thinking about a bike tech one, wondered if you tzoners might have other ones i could consider thanks

ABBA Stand for me all the time,,,good useful piece of kit

DO NOT get one with swinging 'J's...they are ****...and you run the risk of scratching the side of the swingarm every time you use it.

I too have an ABBA bike lift...

good bit of kit imho...

it's pretty stable, obviously you can't go swinging on it...but for most maintenance it's fine. About the same as a regular paddock stand I recon

Tifa I've not seen that abba stand before. I assume it lifts the front as well?

Jist looked at the pics again and it does.

Yep, that one's the all singing & all dancin' 500kg version...mine is rated a 400kg's I think...and the castors on mine just roll from side to side, in one direction.
It takes about 5mins to set up correctly, easiest to use if you lift the bike up off a paddock stand..
Fit's away quite compactly under the bench when not in use.

Oh yeah...and it's fu*king heavy

I'd love a bike lift, but they take up so much room. The ABBA thingy would be good for working on the T and Mrs.KB's Monster, but no good for my Triumph or BSA,(and they are the two most tinkered with bikes!).
Ah well,I guess I'll be rolling around on the floor as usual.

HOW f***ING MUCH? You can get a proper one for that.

agree 100%...but I don't have the space for a proper one...the abba just gets slung under the workbench when not in use....
even though they aren't good value for money they do work well, and allow you to drop both wheels out of the bike without the need for additional support/stands/jacks etc.......
