Has anybody had their front showas revalved by reactive supspension or any other front fork mods along with running the oem factory ohlins shock on the rear and if so how does it perform now?
I know, should have bought the factory!!

Gaz did mine earlier in the year and also fitted an Ohlins rear with heavier spring - it totally transformed my bike and made it much much more stable and better to ride on both bumpy and smooth roads. Before I had it done the bike would loose traction going around fast bumpy corners, now it just corners like its on rails.

Don't want to sound rude Stoney, but how heavy are you? I've been thinking about fitting an Ohlins rear c/w heavier spring also. I'm about 103kg BTW.

Cheers

Dave

After about 35K km my rear shock is getting a tad shonky. Time for that Ohlins. Wondering where the best deal is. Wondering if I'll be able to find a matching front end as well... ;) Hopefully that will deal with my svelte little 122kgs...

Maybe you should see a doctor. Anorexia, bulimia etc are treatable these days mate. I'd really hate to see you waste away.:no

I'm about the same. Its great with the heavier spring on, you sit on the bike and it feels really solid and poised instead of saggy and baggy.

I bought my Ohlins on ebay and then had the stiffer spring supplied and fitted by Gaz.

I've been looking at the one at AF1. With an uprated spring it's around USD$700 from memory NIB

?????

Hi guys . The question was front shock revalved ??? IS IT GOOD?/

Im getting my Tuono early Sept
How does it handle with standard forks and original rear shock?

Or should I just bit the bullet and get the shock and forks done??

Weight 105 kg 6ft 2"
Also should I get a screen ?

Im going to do the 15 sprocket do I also need to do the rear???

OR JUST RIDE THE BLOODY BIKE

I weigh 90 kilos and have just done the oem ohlins rear conversion from the sachs on my R and used a mixture of the suspension settings found on http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91780&page=2
I have the oem spring which seems to run fine with my weight.

I found the advice given on 1 16th turns of the rebound and compression on the standard front showas have worked best for me and with the new shock have almost transformed the bike from exactly the same problems that stoney was having along with front chatter and the front trying to tuck on short sharp bumpy bends at speed.
I spoke with a lot of suspension firms and reactive seemed to offer the soundest advice and he seems to really know his aprilias, I have gone for the revalve of the original front internals and a thourough service and 7.5 weight fork oil on his advice for £150.00 plus p&p if it sorts the front end it will be a bargain and much cheaper than an ohlins revalve I was quoted 600 quid for plus vat!!
I've fitted a set of high level mivvs and will post some pics when I work out how if anybody is interested, map 2 at my dealers is£75.00 but they say they will alter the fuel air ratio to the bike as well as the remap, is this normal and does the price including altering ratios seem ok?

hi there m8 i got my 06 tuono front forks re valved at reactive it cost me 180 .wat a diferance .before it was a bit vage now it is spot on .have got ohlins on back and a hyperpro damper on front it handels spot on now .no head shakes or wabbles keeps up with my mates rsv4 on the twistys no probs .

Cheers spong, just the info I was after, I can get the ohlins oem steering damper at the dealers for £188 does anybody know the difference between the aftermarket ohlins damper and the oem ohlins one? and will it bolt straight on or will it need a fitting kit as well? head is a bit shaky with the sachs one but kinda fun!!

Saafrican it depends how you ride the bike at 90 kg I found the bike would wallow and buck, rear ohlins have sorted a lot of the problems out and I used some front settings from the link in my post above which really helped but it's still not quite there for what I want to use the bike for, the frame is sharp as a razor though and I can't fault it one bit.
I can let you know what the front is like when I send it off and get them back but Spong reckons there much better.

I had the forks re-valved by Gareth a few years ago on my old Falco and it was without doubt the best money I've ever spent on a bike. As I'm on the "svelte" side as well, I now have the Ohlins shock with a heavier Hyperpro spring fitted again by Gareth.

The bike is a dream to ride and if I can afford I'll have the forks done by him this winter. I'd recommend him to anyone he's a true pro.
