Hi. Not sure but can I ask if the quickshifter helps with positive gear changes? My box is like a sack of spanners. Do you have to wire it in using a power commander or can it stand alone? Thanks

Hi Rad the dynojet quickshifter fits directly to the power commander and works with the commander to unload the gearbox to make shifting quicker and clutchless it also enables full power shifting, i find the quickshifter makes me push the gear lever alot softer and makes the shifts a hell of alot smoother, do you already have a power commmander???
If so this is a great mod you know wot the clutches are like on these things. Good luck
Bryan

Not got a power commander and can't really afford one. :-(. I clutchless change on way up anyway. It's not as smooth as on a four. Lurches a little sometimes. It's the missed gears I'm bothered about. It's not good loosing drive mid overtake. The gear leaver is a pain. Struggle getting my foot under it. Not enough space from footrest to gear lever me thinks.

Hi m8 got mine on fleabay 100 squid defo worth it m8 dont tell the wife thats wot i do ,they do say forgiveness is easier to obtain than permission, wot year of ape have you got again i know you can adjust the lever on the newer model not to sure about the older tho .you can even pull the lever off and move it up or down...

Its a 2008, hundred notes for the power commander? Thats cheap if it was. Its the distance betweem lever and footrest to get my foot inbetween. Bit of a pain.

Hi m8 it took me ages to wait for one at the right price everyone want 150 for second hand but it can be done i got my quickshifter fae the same guy both for 180 bargain. youve got the same model as me the gear change lever has alot of adjusment on it if the wee end bit isnt enough(thats the technical term)the whole lever can be moved up or down, if not the same companies that do the aftermarket levers do aftermarket rearsets to and they dont break the bank either....

No problem Paul have you got a rsv??? The fact of the matter with these bikes is the clutches are heavy and need constant bleeding or modding alot of guys change the slave for an after market one with a bigger piston making changes easier another compliant is getting the thing into neutral and again there are a few mods to fix this problem, but hey life would be boring without a few teasers and that is why we love these bikes because they have niggles ,no call them the bikes personality??.....

So i take noone is runnin one of these wouldn't mind a bit of advice on the kill time before ma first track night of the year on april 1st(and no its not a wind up),come on fellas i know your out there.............

Generally between 65 & 45ms. 65 will give a bit of a lag, 45 runs the risk of box damage. Start at 65 & see how you get on.

Yeah I do own RSV/RSVR's Bryan, 2 currently & 7 departed, all (bar one) used in the most arduous conditions possible so I guess I must be exceedingly lucky in never having had a clutch problem.

:biggrin

Hi bryanthegoat,

Mine's set to:
Lower threshold = 4000 rpm
Duration = 65 ms
Activation = as soon as touched

It works peachy for me:thumbup

Hi Paul wasn't being cheeky just there has been quite a few posts of people wi clutch problems and mine is a mare seems to be quite a problem, BRG cheers for that mines is set at 75 the noo and it seemed to long good to know cheers

BRG m8 forgot to ask , i was fooling around wi the throttle position on the power commander (dont ask) and reset the values now the bike is very fluffy at the bottom wot is your throttle position number ,cheers in advance
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Fraid I don't know much about the workings of the PCIII - my tuner set it up for me. Having said that, if you can be a bit more specific, I don't mind having a look. But please be aware that my RSV is very non-standard and has a custom map!

Cheers pal if you connect your laptop to the power commander then turn on the ignition and start the bike load up the powercommander interface then click on power commander tools on the top then click on set throttle position , take a note of the number in the middle and gi me a shout as to wot it is ,from closed throttle there is a hole in the response i think i need to stop ****** about wi these things cheers in advance m8
