Good, don't crank it over with a duff battery it will destroy your sprag assembly.

Starting these bikes is relatively simples:

I always use the cold start - warm or cold.

I simply adapt the amount of cold start I use to the temperature of the engine, hence engine cold = full cold start - engine warm = small amount of cold start.

If the bike is tuned well the engine will fire up in less than a second of hitting that starter button.

Get yaself a new good quality battery..good info if ya do a thread search here..topic has been covered in great depth..also i think LEGS has done a good startup procedure thread, so advise searching that out also. As amb says, sprag clutch damage can be done very easily on these bikes.
