proper racing

brilliant, he was the master .. r.i.p. joey mate......

who was that **** head who ran accross the road ?????????

love road racing - (like proper enduros as well mind, gotta hand it to the Dakar boys & *****) - interesting that there is only one guy at the moment who excels on the short stuff as well.

Step forward Mr.S.Plater. To really qualify as a great you should have to win on road and track IMO.

BTW Ryan Farquhar + very standard ER6 = champion. :thumbup

Forgive me for being a bit dense, but which version of RC45 is Joey riding? I didn't know they came in a twin-can setup.

The RC45 ran with various exhaust set ups. Twin stacked on one side being the one probably most recognised.

Take a look here for a run down of what was produced :thumbup

I'd hazard a guess Joey was on an ex HRC works bike. He was a favourite son of theirs and was that man ever special!

first time i went the ulster was lucky to see the master at work winning five races in a day brilliant:thumbup

Absolute heroes, shame DJs career was cut short he could have been one of the greatest ever at the TT. The bike Joey is on is a RC51 also known as SP1, another one taken too early all the good ones die young.

I love watching road racing, these guys have balls the size of water melons. The on board shots really show how hard the suspension is working over the rough tarmac. Big respect to all of them.

Defo an RC45 mate, he was given the bike by Honda after this win and had it suspended from the ceiling in his pub :thumbup. He didn't ride the SP1 untill the 2000 TT, (James Toselands bike), but it wasn't enough to beat the V&M R1's that year.

Absolute heroes and get my utmost respect. Miss joey & DJ. It's defo an RC45 as you say. His RC51 was 2000 in the vimto sponsored livery. He will always be an absolute legend. One of the reasosn I came within a knats knacker to buying an sp1 or 2. But the rsv is soooo much better on the design, and *** appeal front

It may well have been mate, Slight was still racing in WSB that year, (99). The RC45 that Joey took to victory must have been a full Factory RVF, it had to be to keep up with the R1's, so I guess it fits in with the story of it being Slight's WSB machine.

I think that Hislop and Foggy both rode RVF's at the IOM TT.
