I should point out, I've not done anything like this before, had a go at spraying a clock in class about 15 years ago!

Dont look bad to me :thumbup

Could do with a front end shot and the colour on the tank looks a bit flat but i think the finished article will look pretty good.

Maybe Ill sticker mine up during offseason, quality looks oke and the price is not that bad.

Good luck with the project, so far it looks good:thumbup

doesn't look to bad from a spray can got to agree with Barry the tank needs some clear on it or even clear with some flake in it to match the green

Hi All,

Thanks for the feedback.
The tank in that main picture where it's on the table, has now been lacquerd but it's that ****** petrol resistant stuff and seems to have a gloupy texture when you bung it on and well, kind looks like snot when it dries too. Was thinking of sanding it back a little and hitting it with a coat of normal lacquer.. We'll see how it goes tonight i guess!

More pics to come.
Does anyone have experience with spraying etc? Need some advice about orange peel!!

Cheers.

Crappy pic, but I'm getting there.

Hopefully finished by the weekend, I'll get some more pics done - somehwere sunny!

needs something on the white panels ..what i dont know just something to soften it up a bit...i still like it though...very individual...yours is the only one like it...:thumbup How good does that feel?

Must admit if i could get a set of bodywork i'd change mine but with near mint panels i'm very reluctant to touch it:dunno

p.s. i voted wicked in the poll...:inlove

Cheers Redrat!

I agree, I've been holding off on the decals for the white panels as they're the original colours, blue and grey etc... not sure if they'd just throw the whole thing off really.

Sod It, can always scrape 'em back off if they suck.
Cheers for the vote, i've been holding my breath!

Will be finished this weekend, have more pix up over the weekend. Might have to ask the Mrs to get on it..

Finally!

managed to get the rest of the decals on, and they look way better than I thought they would. It;s the chrome lettering man - Imageworks ROCK!

Sorry about the night shots - I sleep when the suns up.

Oooooo!

One thing that is missing that would look good is a chrome ip sticker like ive got on mine

Oooo, the poll's looking a bit hit 'n miss..

She looks good in the flesh ah pwomiss!

dude, pop around and sort my yellow out! been toying with the idea of sorting my 2 tone yellow out my self but first would be to secure the replacement fairing so I can keep the bike on the road.

Just normal spray cans you used? I was thinking I might invest in a compressor when I do mine, sorry if :lol
I do like the design but the red is not the red I would have used :) nice looker now buddy

wasn't looking to bad till i saw the mirrors, not sure about that buddy :dunno

assuming you have put put sufficient clearcot on the best way to remove orange peel is to wet flat it with 1500 or 2000 wet & dry paper & hire a polisher from the local hire shop as that will save you hours over hand polishing, or, as you have done all the hard work, take the panels to a local bodyshop & ask how much for them to apply a 2k clear for you.:thumbup

like the design tho :thumbup

Well I think its tops all from a can or 2. how many cans did you use in the end bud?
