funny I was going to mention why the shims were so big makes sense now ...does that move the power band up the rev range and give more power

Yes it will move the power up more , but with the extra mid range from the big bore it should still have lots of power everywhere .

here is the dyno sheet

bare in mind that 142 on a fuches dyno would be around 146 on a dynojet , it still needs some more mapping and a chance for the rings to bed in , so a few more hp is on the cards .

What are your thoughts on that figure red
I think you should be pleased.... Maybe missed a trick to have a play with the heads whilst it was apart but hey it's not my bike or money...but for a Little play I'd say there was a few more bhp to be had there but as you say once it's bedded in and a play with the mapping you'll see more...magic 150???

Be interesting to see what difference an airbox makes if you change it.

But it's not all about outright power is it.....the riding with a monster midrange is where it's at'!

I did clean up the ports but nothing more , I was going to get the heads done but was advised that the cams would be a better option as aprilia made a good job already .
I could go with smalt headers but would probably only gain a couple of hp , airbox could be an option though .
I also had a sticky tyre on , that has been known to rob a couple of hp on the dyno .

I got offered an evo6 the other week from hansie over on af1 but it won't fit my gen1 so I didn't bother probably that or smaltmoto would give you a few more horses .

Have you got any thoughts for the airbox? What type?

I'm going tigcraft on mine as I've had them in the shed for a few years...that's if ups can find my engine....it's on the missing list!

I off to Thailand for Xmas so buying more goodies is out for now .
How do you lose an engine in the post lol
