Hi folks,

Took the advice and now my already beloved mille(only managed to do about 40 miles since i got it due to work and bad weather!!)is hooked up to an optimate 24/7:biggrinThis has stopped the clocks reseting to kmph.

However i have noticed that the speedo doesnt work all the time and reads 0mph regardless of the speed I am doing?????:confusedDo you guys think this is more likely to be a sensor or clocks issue?dunno

Also an aprilia titanium race can and chip are fiited along with K+N air filter but I was told by my mate who was riding behind me that he could smell petrol so I think the bike could be running a little rich?????Was thinking about changing to the standard chip to see if this made a difference:dunno

Thanks in advance for any advice it is always much appreciated:thumbup

The speed sensor runs from the rear wheel, check to see if thats ok first mate

I have dug out my multimeter and I'm going to consult the manual on how to check it

Cheers

I am 99% sure its the sensor. If you need advice on testing it then pm me as I did one recently. I seem to remember Sprocker knows where to get them cheap and its an easy job to change them.:eatcorn

thanks mate going to try and check it tonight with the guidance of a haynes manual.

unsensitive sensor

Right I have established that the speedo sensor is goosed:bawling.
I will need to try and get one to replace it.As i don,t trust any of my local bike garages I am going to go down the self maintenance road so replacing the sensor looks a relatively easy task to break me in!!!!:doug

Next tasks are new chain and sprockets, sprockers airbox pics:thumbup have made me fancy a go at that as well!!!!!!!

Cheers,

Standard one is fine so im told and thats what im running at the mo and dont see any reason to change... you can get a custom map made up but thats down to you m8.. more money that can be spent else where :thumbup

M8 dont try the rene conversion if you aint that sure cos its a bit fiddly and you have to be precise on your measurements and i mean precise :roll mine took quite a while so if you want to do badgers mod i think that would be easier... like wot sprocker has done... its up to you m8 :dunno:thumbup

funnily enough was thinking exactly that myself!!!!!
Cheers for the info:thumbup

You will need a template for the baseplate " which i have " :devious it had to be made up from scratch which took a long time to fettle but once you get that done its plain sailing and the joyouse sound you get makes it worth while too..:thumbup

It all looks a bit technical and time consuming to me!!!Think I'll save time and money as I already have a k+n and do the other mod.

I'm off to find a speedo sensor and some foam.

Cheers.:biggrin
