I own a RSVR 1000 2009, Do power commanders make much of a difference to the perfomance of your bike, including fuel

Cheers

no mate is the answer for performance increase but will sort out fueling issues. Map 2 and slip on akras gave me 121bhp. Hooked airbox, full system and a custom map gave me 123bhp. A stadard bike in map 1 i think knocks out 117bhp. So i think inless you getting loads of mods i don't think its worth it. you may also gain bhp up the rev range as well. The fueling side of things the pc3 is very good since my custom map the bike feels better and doesn't pop as much. o and i see its your first post so welcome, there is a load of great lads on here with **** loads of info so make the most of it mate.

the powercommander from what i've read will remove any drops in your rev's and smooth out your throttle response, where nowadays new bikes coming out of the factory feel like **** as manufacturers have to meet certain noise and emission tests, the PC3 will get the bike running how it should be, if that makes sense.

i love em mate...yep well worth it !!
Got one on my bike!!

soz ste!! hehe!!
Griffer!!

No mate its a fair comment, like I said your bike will feel great but for pure power increase they don't give loads of it, like some people would say they do.

I would agree that they dont make massive amounts of differece to power figures, but as said before they do smooth out a few things that are there because of manufacturing constraints due to emission rules. If you are putting cans on it I would say definately put one on with the bike on map 2 or use an oxygen sensor eliminator if you dont get the map 2 put in. I have tried power commanders on a few bikes ( Gsxr750, Zx6r, Zzr1400,Rsvr1000) and always run them on a dyno before and after fitting and it is always the same outcome with slight increases here and there but the main difference will be in the fuelling ratio as you want it to be as near to 14:1 as possible and this is what they are good at. It will smooth out the throttle response but you should make sure the throttle bodies are balanced properly as well as this can make a massive difference. If you are after better fuel economy then I would say you wont get it from a power commander, if you are after a better ride then I would say fit it, hope this helps

Smooth things out with a PC111 and dyno runs and it is as good as giving you more power as the bike is more rideable which means you will go from A to B quicker, so i say do it:thumbup
