My 2004 RSV is completely stock i.e ECU, Exhausts etc. Can I fit a Power Commander onto the stock bike? I've looked on the dynojet website and the only maps available seem to require the bike to be put into MAP 2 using the AXONE :dunno

Yes you can if you run their own lamda sensor overide. But unless you are having a custom map why bother ?
The generic maps will never be right for your machine because every bike is different and what fuels spot on for 1 might be way out for another.

It's your money but unless you go the custom map route i think it's a waste of £300.

Cheers Spoonz, I was just seeing if there was a way to back it smoother at low revs around town. I don't really want to spend doubdle that on new cans etc really.

Change your gearing! 2004 RSVR run 16/40 gearing standard. They are way over geared as standard and so are pretty horrible to ride around town. Certainly at the very least drop one tooth off the front to a 15 tooth sprocket. Then go 42 on the back. You'll be amazed at how much better and smoother the bike is. Try B&C Express. Should be about £55 in total for front and rear Rental sprockets but i suggest you go with a hard annodized rear sprocket.

Cheers Legs I hadn't thought of that, you're a good man. Can I keep the same chain or I would I need a smaller/bigger one? :thumbup

On the later 2003.5 onwards RSVR and Factory you can keep the standard chain length when going for this gearing option

Ive just changed my gearing to 15/42 on 04 mille and it does make a difference for the better.

Better acceleration and easier around town for sure as said above.

If you want to treat yourself get a open airbox, these mod's are cheaper than a power commander and have great benifits
