Possible Clutch problem

The black clutch fluid is from the seal degrading in the OEM slave cylinder; it's a know problem. A lot of owners replace it with an Oberon, or such like, which is what I have done.

Have you changed the fluid, yet, and are things any better as a consequence?

Just changed the fluid using a bleed pipe with a valve in it (Told it would be easier) once the bike got to temperature i tried selecting first and the engine cut out

Try bleeding the master cylinder, too. I use a vacuum pump, as it's much easier and more reliable. Also, if you introduced any air into the system, you will need to tip the slave cylinder to remove any that may be trapped in it.

Apologies for tagging on the end of this thread but im not sure how to start a new one.
I have just changed the levers on my bike for shorter ones and on my ride to work this morning my clutch was slipping, not sure if the lever change is just a coincidence but your advise would be greatly received.
The bike is an 02 Mille with 16k miles and generally in great condition

Hi m8,
have u got a bit of free play between lever and clutch master cylinder ?
Common thing to happen when u change levers ,as u usually need to adjust the rod into master cyl.
It sounds like u'rs is maybe wound in too much effectively putting pressure clutch causing it to slip.
If I remember right is there not a small allen lock screw underneath, then the rod is adjusted by small plain screwdriver ?

My money is on this too, most people just whip the original lever off and swap the pivot and rod into the new lever without then adjusting the free play at the master cylinder, it gives the exact symptoms that are being experienced.
