Possible alarm drain.

Now recently the bike has suffered from drain on the battery and have seen on here about Meta alarms/ imobilisers causing this. Now as mine seems to be hard wired into the battery could you fit a switch to the positive side so you could switch power to the alarm off completely.
The reason thinking of doing this is to stop dead battery and leave the option for next owner in the future to still have factory fitted alarm

Is it long periods between use? Mine drains over about a week. Because its a weekend toy it doesnt get used enough. I hear these bikes are very prone to this, alarm or no alarm.

I just keep a jump pack handy. Most people keep theirs on optimates which does the trick. I've not got power in my garage so can't leave it on optimate all the time so what I've been doing lately is just plugging it in while I'm at home and that seems to do the trick :)

Bike used everyday but only about 5 miles each way to work, so in the week i don't think charging fully.
