Please help me on engine noise - is it normal

simple case of labouring the engine, don't accelerate as hard at as low a rev range, the engine don't like it

will try badger :thumbup

ill just play tomorrow.

been so used to inline 4s this is a different beast and can tell will take some getting used too.

badger you seem a wealth of knowledge on these judging by some posts.... off topic but what front and rear tyres are best for my 1998 mille.

everyone i speak to recommends the diablo corsas best for wet and dry on road :thumbup

mines a little like that the more load i put on here its sounds and feels like what you are saying. I to have came from inline4. the gearing is not the same as the jap bikes and im now used to it. its just the twin, enjoy :)

as long as it aint gonna seize on me or throw me off or breakdown, im happy.

glad someone else knows what i mean.

thanks everyone :thumbup

Hi

I would say your looking at the engine labouring too much, BADGE might have it their!!

Also check your chain, I know if its not adjusted well, and your pulling too high a gear it creates a terrible slapping noise!! OR that could be me :)

Personally i don't like them from my experience with a set i had, i tend to run Racetecs or Supercorsa's normally, but my own choice for an all rounder is a Michelin 2CT, the new Bridgestone seems to be getting good reports as an all rounder too:biggrin

fair comment, like i say coming from a 4pot this is a different thing to work. just getting used to it.

Just to be safe I'd get a technician to look at it for you as I'd hate to say don't worry and it goes and lets go on you.

Did I read that you said you was having Fusebox look at it for you soon?

Can't do better than that mate!

PM Hooked, he has the info on this subject matter, he'll tell you all about his Sat Nav set up on his RSV.

Smart set up!!

PS. Griff knows his **** so will sort it out for you, never met the guy but his reputation and advice is second to none.

cheers bud :thumbup

Pm;d hooked so ill just wait on a reply.

annoying as half the people i speak to on this aint got a clue even when they do this as a job :laugh amazing really.

really need to get this sorted aswell :(

Fusebox was great on the phone lol! quite a character. Looking forward to getting him onto my bike. No doubt i will be happy with his service.

Have to concurr with the other guys.
Only 2 pistons so much wider gap between engine pulses than an IL4 so won't be as smooth at low revs which obviously has a cylinder fire twice as often.

When you do it on a twin the chain will slap violently as well and will knacker your chain in quick fashion or even break it. It's not unique to aprilia twins. My brothers varadero is pig awful at low revs.

pmsl!!!!!! :laugh

you are just jealous that i cant ride a V twin and you can

Change your gearing to either 16/44 or 15/42. As has been said, the bike's too overgeared as standard. Doing this mod will help hugely.

Fusebox and the guys at aprilia Performance ( customrestoandrace) are exellent. Any issues with your bike and they will sort things for you
