I did two long trips on Angels ST, Mileage not bad, but the edge grip was ***** and inconsistent. After being on the edge of the tire a couple of times, the softer edges and harder inner rubber compounds started to wear unevenly making an inconsistent ridge and very visible to the eye. At some places on the edge of the tire the ' width ' of the softer edge looked like a ' sine ' wave ' with either 2 cm of ' soft ' edge or almost none at all.
My biggest issue with the Angel ST ( 50 profile ) was that I damaged my rim on full lean going over a 'cat's - eye ' as the profile is to low to protect the rim from going over sizable foreign objects.
Yes, I know I should not have gone over the cat's-eye ( my eyes were far ahead on the corner exit, but no excuse ).
The point I really wanted to make is that I would never put a ' low profile ' tire on again ( don't care what make it is ) purely for the reason that the risk of damaging
a very expensive OZ is too high.
