Never used Racetecs but I have had 2CT's on my bike for years now and I simply wont budge and move to another tyre.

Brilliant grip, good wear rate and the thing I like best about them is that they don't seem to go "off" like some tyres do near the end of their mileage life and start tramlining all over the shop or feeling like you are riding on a carpet of marbles.

Quality hoops and I can't see past 'em m8. :thumbup

Run them at the correct pressures though, nowhere near what the manual says to. 32F/34R is what most folks on RSV's run the 2CT's at.

On my 3rd / 4th set of Racetecs and find them to be very good, always ran 2CTs before and wouldnt have changed excpet got a great deal on the Metzelers (about £40 cheaper than 2CTs and £60 or so less than Pirellis).
Will go back to 2CTs when there's no price difference but as I go through 3 rears per year I figure I can't outride what they can do so I may as well save a few quid.

Despite all of that its a confidence thing and in my head I dont want to go for budget tyres.

From the top brands I really don't think there are any bad tyres and my tyre dealer pointed out that the soft compound of dual compound tyres is only about the width of your thumb - if you're not wearing that area of the tyre you're wasting your money on any dual compounds.

If you go for Racetecs you wont be dissapointed.

Racetecs are awesome in dry conditions on track, but I find em a bit baff in anything a bit on the moist side. 2cts seem better all round on road but I've not used em on track so dont know how good they are when pushed.

I used racetecs on my R1. Awesome trackday tyre and rasonable on the road. Took a while to get warmed up on the road but very nice when they did. I was tip toeing everywhere though when I got caught out in an absolute downpour.

I then tried some 2CT's. OMG they blew me away. Loads of confidence andi had my knee down on a roundabout within 80 miles of them being fitted. I absolutley love em. Sold my R1 last year and bought another RSV. It came with Dunlop ditchmasters rr, so I couldn't wait to get them off. I ran them until the rear was knackered just because I hadn't got the money to change. Then I put a pair of 2CT's on. Again what a transformation. Makes the rsv's handling even better than it was. Good for the odd trackday as well and awesome on the road.

Either way you'll have a good tyre on you steed. Both are great tyres but aimed at different uses.
