Hi folks newbie here and as the title may let on, I'm very excited to take receipt of my new to me Mille r 04. Fell for it as soon as I saw it and although the 04 doesn't seem to be the most favoured model, I (foolishly?) fell in love with it.

Reading about some of the gremlins that plague them leads me to believe I must be a bit mental!

Good to see such a friendly bunch and look forward to getting to know everyone.

Cheers, Mark.

Hahaha can't go wrong with a name like that! Soon as you've got her get some pics up! :thumbup

Sorry I should have been clearer. Its the 2004 model. The one that was affected by the change that saw the R version become the standard model and the factory version become the premier model.

So am i to assume pre-2004 bikes are considered gen one and 2004 upwards are gen 2?

Yep, that's the one. Yours would be a gen 2. :thumbup

I dont think the gremlins are anything to worry about! Most the common faults are easy fixes, and most go back to the battery stick it on a optimate and you should be fine.

That being said any faults experienced have been covered by someone and there is some great advice to be had here

sorry to jump in guys but i have battery problems even after parting cash for a new one. could you tell me what a "optimate" is and can i tell if she already has one on her. thanks

An optimate is a battery charger, trickle charge support to keep your battery in tip top condition Optimate is the manufacturers name. There are other manufacturers but Optimate are very good. Try google searching the name.

so seat off every time you get home. im usually shaking like a fooking leaf lol

I have mine with it connected to the battery all the time with the lead that comes with it and a multi type plug on the other end, have in in hump behind the seat, just plug the other lead/multiplug from the optimate into it, job done.

looks like the wallet is coming out again, sounds great bud. thanks for the info

Quick update. Picked up the Mille yesterday and I'm absolutely smitten. The thump of the engine is intoxicating. The back brake is weak as expected but that's it's only bad point.

My heart did sink ten minutes into my ride home when the bike stopped without warning. My worst fears about being sold a dodgy bike were coming true until I realised that the shop had put a thimble of fuel in for me :rant and she just needed a full up! Phew! Anyway, bring on that summer weather!
