For the guys who have been waiting on the generation 2 kits the wait was worth it. Below is a link to photo-bucket, where i have chosen some pictures Ive taken during the build and some of the finished product. :biggrin

Anyway this is what I've been doing,this second generation model came about from the susses of the genertaion 1 kit and the many requests & pms from you guys to develop a gen 2 new shape kit
As i searched the forum and read the many threads and posts from forum members regarding the different types of performance upgrade filters. IE the Badger,the Homer,the Evo,and the Renegade,there's also the cut your own the wooden etc etc.
The 2 mane differences between them sealed box ie evo type,and the open type ie the Renegade type . The argument still remains im sure your agree there is the sealed camp,and the open camp.
My understanding is the Evo offers Ram air but mid to high end and at speed but looses out low down.And the Renegade offers instant low down and mid range but is the same at the top end.So as a personal choice i chose the later open design.Also led buy the guys i ride with raving on about theres and that i must buy one.
So to summarise i have a early mille r with an open air filter kit ( see 1998-2003 generation 1 kit thread )

First look at the pictures in the link : You should be able to see around the outer edge of the plate a raised profile. It does not seal against the tank when lowered,however as the argument exists and there is a camp that think the way forward is a sealed airbox i wanted to try and cover this with an option.If you fitted an seal to this outer edge that i may offer in the future and a capping peace i will develop over the next few months you will have your self a sealed system as i sure some people will want the seal. Now i was going to develop a flat plate with out the raised profile,however doing it this way you can if you wish and spend a lot of time at plus 100 mph in the future buy an optional capping peace and a seal.
So there you have it guys . I have covered both camps sealed and opened and my new gen2 kit will do both.

There will be x3 different materials x4 main prices and some added options.
1 ... carbon lacquered ...... £185 :doug
2 ... carbon ......£165 :doug
3 ... prepreg glass (aircraft quality ) .....£140 :doug
3 ... Fibreglass ( aircraft quality ) .....£130 :doug
Note the Pic: ( Bike **** ) is prepreg with carbon area section across throttle bodies and paint and lacquered

all will be aircraft Epoxy resin ..and stand heat well :biggrin
The fibreglass one has a the white is a gel-coat finish so it will yellow / brown through time. This is a good coat for a paint finish. I would imagine these would look smart painted with a heat resistant paint.
The Pre-preg glass, actually weighs the same as the carbon one but is stronger .
And then of course there is the Carbon plate ive shown it twice as there's going to be a difference in price depending on weather you want plain carbon,or the polished lacquered version.
Each kit depending only on your choice of material for the base plate,will come with the following:
1 x AIR FILTER
1 x OIL FILTER BREATHER
1 x HOSE 320mm long
4 x PLAIN 5mm NUTS
1 x 5mm LOCKNUT
1 x 5mm WASHER
1 x 5mm BOLT … 16mm Long
1 x 5mm BOLT … 24mm Long
Also i will forward you detailed fitting instructions
The price will inc UK only postage and packaging for 48hr delivery.
I have posted the gen 1 kits to Australia and the U/S and will post this kit anywhere providing you pay the extra postage how much.I don't know however you will only pay the price printed on the postage sticker . :thumbup
The reason for the different prices is purely your budget,they all do the same job just different appearance and weight.( however the heaviest & cheapest fibreglass one has with the white is a gel-coat finish ) is at least half the weight of the OEM airbox :biggrin
These will be on a first come first served basis.all plates will be available for order with up to a 2 weeks turn around depending on your choice.
