Hi all

NB i may have got the wrong end of the stick on this one!!
I have seen it somewhere something about altering or taking a weight out of a flywheel assembly of some sorts to gain extra performance of some discription. Does anyone know what this is about

Striclty speaking yes, lightening the flywheel would impove performance. Basically it's on the gear output shaft, less weight means it spins up more quickly. There's also a loss/lack of engine braking as a side effect.

On a bike like a Tuono you may be looking 1-3bhp or less than 1%.

Considering the ammount of time and labour to strip engine and remove/reinstall and drop some weight off the flywheel, it's one of the least cost effective mods you could consider for a Tuono IMO.

Hi weeksy
Its just i had seen something whilst just flicking through some threads and i could not find the start of it, so it was just bugging me. I agree not worth it, i will get a better gain laying of the pie,s

Cant say its worth the hassle . Tends to make the bike rev quicker but not enough gain for the work involved .

Snaggle

Also worth mentioning, that it will affect the ridability of the bike as well. If you were building an enging for purely racing, then yes it's worth it, but for the street forget it.
